The Polly's community — people and family at the heart of everything
Our story

Born from family, built for community

Polly's didn't start as a business plan. It started as a belief — that good clothes deserve a second life, and that the people who give them up deserve something back.

Where it all began

Polly's Retail grew out of a simple frustration. Like so many families, we had wardrobes full of beautiful clothes that no longer fitted, no longer suited, or simply no longer got worn. Charity shops felt impersonal. Selling online felt like a full-time job. There had to be a better way.

So we created one. A service where you hand over your clothes, we do all the work — the mending, the cleaning, the photographing, the selling — and you get a share of what they make. No hassle. No listing. No waiting around for buyers who never show up.

Every piece handled with care — because it came from someone's home

A family affair

Polly's is run by our family, from our home ground in Ballyragget in the heart of Co. Kilkenny. Every piece that comes through our door is handled with care — because we know it came from someone's home, someone's wardrobe, someone's life.

We're not a faceless operation. When you drop your clothes with us, you're handing them to real people who genuinely love what they do. We take pride in every repair, every restoration, every piece we put back out into the world looking its very best.

The community keeps us going

What has surprised us most is how much people love getting that message — 'your coat sold, here's your share.' It's not always a fortune, but it's always a lovely surprise. People tell us they use it for a treat, a night out, a little something for the kids. It's money they didn't expect, from clothes they'd forgotten about.

That feeling — of turning something forgotten into something useful — is what Polly's is all about. The community of Ballyragget and beyond has embraced it wholeheartedly, and we are endlessly grateful for every bag of clothes dropped at our boxes, every kind word, and every customer who tunes in to our live rail sales.

The bit donors love most

Time and again, the message we hear from people who donate is the same — they forgot they'd even dropped the clothes off, and then one day a little payment lands and it makes their week. It's not about the amount. It's the feeling of knowing something you loved is being loved again, and that you got a little something for letting it go.

"I dropped off two bags and completely forgot about them. A few weeks later I got a message saying three pieces had sold. It was like finding a tenner in an old coat pocket — only better."

What we stand for

The things that matter to us

01

Honest & personal

We're a family, not a corporation. You'll always deal with real people who care about doing right by you.

02

Every piece matters

We mend, clean and restore everything we receive. Nothing is thrown away if it can be saved.

03

Donors always benefit

When your clothes sell, you earn. It's that simple. We believe the people who make this possible should always get something back.

04

Rooted in Kilkenny

We're proud to be based in Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny — a place that shares our love of community and doing things properly.
